day of thanksgiving

I went to Wal-Mart the day after Halloween and was surprised to hear of all things, Christmas music playing in the background. As we drove around the neighborhood the other night, I realized more and more people are getting their Christmas decorations up BEFORE Thanksgiving. I mentioned this to Jed and he tried to play advocate and justify on behalf of the neighbors why they might do this. I don't buy it. It seems we are in such a hurry to get one holiday over so we can get to the next that we may not always enjoy what is right in front of us. So, as this Thanksgiving holiday passes and becomes just a faded memory, I hope to take the time to enjoy the day.
