FINALLY!

We had a very busy weekend. Jed and I were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday September 10th. It was a significant day for a couple of reasons. It was my parents 40th anniversary, it was the day we got officially engaged and we kind of like to do things on the 10th. (i.e. the first date was May 10th, engagement was Sept. 10th and Wedding was Nov. 10th)

We are so grateful for all of the family and friends who were there to support us on this special day! It has been a long awaited day. Three years in the making.

If you have ever toured the Salt Lake Temple grounds, you will know about this tree that is in the back of the temple. It has always struck me as quite unique and beautiful. That was my one photo request...that we get a photo on the bench by the "old" tree.

Obviously, we would have liked to be here three years ago on our original wedding day, but we feel so blessed and happy to be here now. We have a great bishop and stake president who have worked with us to make this day possible.
I now realize why previously married couples are often counseled to get married civilly first and then be sealed later. Sometimes the time it takes to get the paperwork filled out, submitted and approved can be pretty lengthy. Despite our hard work to become temple ready and fill out all of the paper work to submit to the First Presidency as quickly as possible, it still took months longer that we anticipated. And despite the roadblocks that were placed in our path we knew this was the right thing to do and that it would eventually happen. We are so grateful we were able to be sealed for time and eternity!
